Newspaper Change

Well one of the things technology has done for me is I can now subscribe to one of my favorite daily newspaper’s electronically. I now receive a daily link to the Toronto Sun which I can log into in order to read my paper.

The display looks like a real newspaper and it is easy to use. The pages flip like a real news pages. I point and click and it zooms into the article. I can zoom in and zoom out on sections of the paper.

The best part is it costs me $4.99 a month instead of $4.99 a week

The Future of Newspapers

This week I was wondering the future of newspapers. Personally in their current form, they will go extinct. The problem is the age old tradition of reading the news at the breakfast table is long gone. The reality is people want more portability in today’s society. For us commuters the newspaper is just to big to carry.

Personally I believe theĀ  future is the electronic newspaper. Something that is available on a e book reader or via the Kindle would make a lot of sens. The issue is these device need to come down in price.

Why these type of devices - for one they are ultra portable. No more bulky newspapers to carry. As a result they will appeal to the technology crowd who is always looking for more. Look no further then the mp3 player. They are small and extremely portable. No more big CD players to carry around.
