I have been doing a trip down memory lane lately with technology and realizing how powerful the devices are that we are using now. When I started programming my Dad had a 4K Coco Col our computer made by Radio Shack. In order to load programs you either used a cartridge or a tape drive. At the time this was an expensive top of the line pc.
What is amazing is in my hand I carry a Samsung Jack Smart Phone. This runs Windows Mobile and has a 4 GB mini SD card in it. This is absolutely incredible to have all this power in the palm of my hand. All for a couple hundred dollars on a 3 year contract instead of the $500-700 that the 4K coco sold for.
Technology just seems to be advancing and advancing and this is just one good example of how it has advanced in the last number of years.

Well Friday was the date the I Phone was released. Their were lineups all over Toronto where I live. Some people needs to have the latest gadgets. I must admit I love gadgets but I also need to be practical. I need to have things which I will use and that help enhance my life.
Their are several problems with the new Iphone are as follows:
1. I still think the data plans are too much.
2. No SD expansion slot.
3. No real keyboard a touch keyboard which you can bring up does not cut it.
4. The battery is too much to replace and you can not do it yourself.
5. I still dislike I tunes.
That all said some people do like it since Apple sold out of the I Phones last Friday. Personally I will take my Samsung Jack any day of the week.

Well the I Phone debate is over for me. I am not getting one. The data plans which Rogers is offering is way too expensive. So why would I go their.
I decided to get a Samsung Jack. It is a Windows CE device and is working great. It syncs with all my current online apps as well as plays Mp3 files and has a 4 gig mini sd slot. I am all set:)
